How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi
5.0
So far this is the best book out of the few books I have read on antiracism. Not only does the book detailed on types and definitions of different kinds of racism as many books on the same topic do, but this is very well written in terms of structures and organisation. The author narrated his ups and downs with racism and his path to become an activist on antiracism, along side with his growth and life journey, and how these two go hand in hand, making the entire narrative more intriguing and the points delivered very striking and on point. I like the writing style of this book. Also some of the ideas delivered actually answering questions which I have been asking while reading others’ works on antiracism.
The best bit to me is the humility of the author and the ability of him to self criticise and reflect in his journey, to show that the road to antiracism is not always clear and bright, nor well-pathed with clear signages. The only way for us is an open mind of constant self reflection to make sure we are staying on the right track to the road of a world with racial equity.
