Holy crud, this book! I was reading a digital arc of this (after pub day) and immediately bought it my next day at work. I needed the book in my hands, needed to turn the pages. The world and Devon’s predicament pulled me in immediately. E As the layers of her current dilemma and the toxic and strangling patriarchy of the book eaters peeled back, I couldn’t look away. I fell deeper and deeper into the story.

At times, The Book Eaters feels like it has all the makings of a dark fairytale, but there is too much poison running beneath that veneer. It is rife with questions of who is a monster, what makes a person monstrous, and when we need monsters over the heroes.

The writing, the story, the questions this book asks… just go read it. It’s devour-able.
