While reading this - I felt seen. It was the little details of what it’s like being plus size. Wide calf boots? Feeling anxious and awkward?

The feels in this book were heavy. The underlying story of Kade’s accident, depression, alcoholism, disillusionment I felt was handled with care. It was a consistent narrative for his actions. And Presley listened to him. Asked him questions - which is really what he wanted.

Presley’s story of toxic relationships, poor body image, lack of confidence and social anxiety was also heavy content but handled well.

And despite all the heavy topics, the developing romance between Kade and Presley just made sense. From the awkward night they met, to their first hang out in the loft that lasted all night with a saucy game of truth or dare, to Kade taking her to the scene of his accident. It was light and fun and romantic while also being very vulnerable with each other. The trust was there.

I really enjoyed this book. There was a book before this one, which I haven’t read. But I don’t feel like I missed anything.
