Happy Place by Emily Henry

5.0

As always, Emily Henry’s writing is fantastic, she has the skill to make me like things I usually don’t. For example, I’m not usually a fan of second-chance romance, because it feels unrealistic sometimes, but in this case it worked so well because the two main characters had been together for years and the break up was recent. Also, I normally don’t love a book that has a lot of flashbacks but I LOVED the flashbacks in this, seeing how the main character fell in love and how much they loved each other was captivating. I was so intrigued by what tore the main couple apart, and, unlike Friends We Meet on Vacation, I was actually satisfied with the revealed. Both the relationship trouble and the friendship troubles felt so realistic to me. I LOVED the group of friends, seeing them struggle to stay friends despite the changes in their lives but loving each other enough to try. Also, I really appreciated that this book focused a lot on the personal growth of the characters.
