I still love Embry. So tortured and complicated. Ash can’t catch a break. Abilene is evil personified. Greer - just kind of is in this book. A reason for ash and embry to have a source of conflict. And Morgan turns out to be so much more complex of a character than led to believe in the first book. She’s not so directly evil but still no saint. I know embry keeps saying he’s not a good man and deserves punishment. I’m not sure I believe it. Like in the beginning, he’s just immature, not bad or undeserving. Then as he makes choices and keeps secrets because he deserves the punishment? Not to sure I like that. I feel it’s all a miscommunication trope under all of it. I hate when one lead makes a decision unilaterally on behalf of the other for “reasons” which a conversation could solve.

Audio listen for commute April. My poor tortured Embry. He is just too pure and raw for his own good. ❤️❤️ And I must say, listening rather than reading does give some new perspective. ESP wrt Ash and all the emotions there ready to spark and flare.
