Good Omens by Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett

adventurous funny fast-paced

4.5

In the words of R.E.M, “It’s the end of the world as we know it” (and I feeel fiiiiine). This a humorous take on the apocalypse, written by the brilliant Neil Gaiman and the late but equally great Terry Pratchett. It begins with the accidental "misplacement" of the infant Antichrist during a complex baby-swapping procedure intended to kick off the Apocalypse. It's all downhill from there. It is a hilarious misadventure between an angel and a demon trying to stop the apocalypse to keep their earthly pleasures. It is a wonderful novel filled with hilarious prophecies, witches, dogs, bookstores, and houseplants. You will laugh and cry as you get attached to the characters and delve deeper into their world. Also, a TV show was just made about this fantastic book! I would highly recommend picking up a copy before watching the show, or if you have already watched it and just want to compare.
