The Rescued Mate: Shifters of the Three Rivers Book 4 by Kira Nightingale
4.0
While this is book 4 it can be read without reading the first 3 books. However, I would highly recommend reading the others first as some of the background for what leads to this are more detailed in those books.
What is best for the pack?
What will be accepted?
What do I want?
These are the questions always on Shya's mind. Can she ever trust what she thinks might be true after what happened with Tristan? How would it work?
Mason Shaw of the Three Rivers pack knows who his fated mate is but will he be able to finally convince her that she should choose him, the outsider, over the safe choice her parents want?
With the title I'm sure you can guess that Shya gets kidnapped in this book. When Shya's pack refuses Mason's help in locating his mate he swears he will find her even if he dies trying. Mason is passionate where her arranged mate would never get his hands dirty. These two men could not be more different.
For those of you who have read the other books you will get more info on the things that have been happening and why. For those who are new to the series you will get plenty of information to understand what is going on and why.
I absolutely adore Shya's brothers but especially her youngest. He is such a fantastic character with so much energy and the added benefit of being an underestimated or overlooked child. He knows what he wants and he sees more than people ever realize. The confrontation around the mating ceremony is so freaking adorable and brave.
There were definitely new surprises and unexpected alliances in this book. There is a lot of change that happens for Shya, Mason and both of their packs. I'm super excited to see what comes next.
