Life After by Katie Ganshert

2.0

I had expected more from a Christian novel. And more from a story where a character suffers from PTSD. To me, the book needed more in-depth knowledge of how PTSD effects a person.
When it came to the characters, the author never ventured beyond the surface level and there were some typical stereotypes within the novels.
The pacing seemed slow and clunky at times which caused me to skim some chapters.
I had hoped for more in the portrayal of the emotional impact that loss and grief can cause, but sadly the author veered away from that.
For a Christian novel, the faith was barely visible; it had more of a surface sheen of faith.
Although written well in some areas, the novel seemed to fall short of its potential.
