The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow

Back in 2019 this book really got me back into the magical doorway books I'd loved as a child, and since then I've read every one I can get my hands on. This was the favourite book of 2019, but I'm not sure it quite holds up to a re-read as I found many chunks from January's Father felt info-dumpy and I struggled to get through them.
January is an incredible character, trapped in her guardian's house we follow her escape from imprisonment as she seeks to find answers as to if her parents are still alive - and which world they've found themselves in. I think I wanted a heavier focus on exploration of the worlds, as January mostly stays in this one.
I think what I didn't think much about in 2019 and found lacking on a re-read was that most of worlds behind the doors were mere glimpses, and January's father's world wasn't too fantastical. However I did love her journey and the ending tied up all the loose ends so well, and I left knowing January was finally where she was meant to be.
