I knew I’d love this having already watched the series and loved that. I guess I didn’t realise basically how much of an exact copy the series had been from the book, so I’d definitely have been better off to read it before but oh well.
It was gripping and tense, explored topics of addiction, love, friendship, and more, and I really just couldn’t put it down. It really does deserve all the hype. The characters are all really well explored, especially Beth, and the way the character development is done is absolutely just *chef kiss*.
Not much else to say really. You don’t need to know about or love chess to be into this, but I’d bet you will be at least interested in it afterwards!
