Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
5.0
This book was so wholesome. I feel like I just got a shot of straight serotonin with that ending.
5/5 stars because it had my crying by the end and honestly I can't really think of anything WRONG with it.
The writing was beautifully done. It flowed at the perfect speed and had such a great balance of humor to go along with the heavy metaphor of the books plot. Nelson had me chuckling out loud to myself multiple times throughout this story. I feel like I could picture everything in this story vividly in my mind.
This book makes you reflect on life. It makes me ask myself, am I happy? Am I doing everything I want to do that I COULD be doing? It's a nice book for thought and reflection, but it presents these things in a way that doesn't feel too heavy or direct. As T.J. Klune has written numerous times in this book, the unknown is scary, and talking about these topics requires a unique approach. A delicate understanding and above all, patience.
Can not recommend this book enough.
