A History of Burning by Janika Oza

5.0

I was hopeful but cautious when preparing to read this because I love multigenerational stories but this one in particular had a fairly large cast of characters. Usually when the list is this ambitious I find myself getting lost or letting my mind wander. However, it was actually very easy to read and understand each POV and have an attachment for them as well. This was a beautifully written story of heartbreak, love, and sacrifice and watching how these things repeat each generation in the form of hope. Janika's prose was lovely and captured me from the beginning. Flawless imo
