Waking Olivia by Elizabeth O'Roark

2.5

What started out as a good book that really captured my attention grew to be something that I really didn’t care for anymore.
First off Olivia was the type of heroine that I love. She gave zero f*cks and told it like it was,her backstory was heartbreaking and the whole running while asleep was a very interesting part of her. For Will he was a bit of an asshole when he met Olivia and I honestly loved their banter,he gave it right back to Olivia when she would be nasty toward him but he was also patient and really tried to be there for her which I loved.

To the stuff I didn’t like. This was a slowburn and I mean slowww,80 chapters (yes there was sexual tension) but not till the 75/80 percent did we get any action. Also there was a lot of stuff that could’ve been left out and it dragged on and on. I’m surprised this author didn’t turn this into a duet 😂
There was also this build up to Olivia’s past with her dad and the whole suspense part and this where is knocked it from 3 stars to a 2 star rating. Olivia’s dad is a psycho and goes and attacks her so Will hears this and comes in punching him and knocks this guy who has murdered 3 people (2humans and 1 dog) it’s was super anticlimactic like this guy is a killer and 1 punch just knocks him out with so much time that you kiss and cry with Olivia and then have time to call the police (dad is still knocked  out,the author made it seem like this guy was the devil ) the build up with this suspense was so huge all for it to be over within a second and then they just go on their happy way? It was wrapped up too fast for me especially after 75chapters for the nightmares, police questioning, running asleep.
Overall this book wasn’t for even tho it started out so promising and sounded so good. Not sure if I’ll read the next book or this authors other books.
