What Kitty Did Next by Carrie Kablean
4.0
Charming read, not too fast-paced, but not plodding either.
In the beginning we are introduced (or re-introduced) to Kitty and we slowly follow her transformation from an immature girl into a more accomplished and genteel young woman. Some people might find the first two-thirds of the book slow and boring, but I liked reading about Kitty's discoveries about London society and how she fit in it.
The main conflict happens in final one-third of the book. It seemed to me that while the author took her time to detail Kitty's transformation, she seemed to rush this last part.
The ending I felt was adequate, though I would have also liked to have gotten more details about what happened to the other characters that weren't the Bennet sisters.
Not a lot of romance in this book, and while that's usually a good thing in my opinion, in this book I would have wanted to see a bit more development in the romantic department for our heroine.
On the whole, still a good read, and something I might pick up again to reread in the future.
