Like the columbian history that he explores is so much more interesting than actually reading his darn book. Hos fictional depiction of the Banana Massacre was so interesting and i actually got the point of using magical realism in this section to show how survivors are treated like loony ppl, as well as show the perpective of the colonizer vs the colonized.

For the rest of it, i think gabriel garcia marquez is a sick and perverted man, and if i didnt feel like it was my duty to my book club to finish this book i would have dnf'ed this book at like chapter 5.
