When the book opened up with Drew’s compelling argument about the original sin, I knew that I was in for a treat. Both main characters were vividly fleshed out, and I really enjoyed reading about these two artistic soulmates slowly falling in love and the setup of the obstacles that would test them. But I had to deduct points for the childish third act breakup fueled by miscommunication, the “miracle”, and the déjà vu in Chapters 15 & 37 where Drew was rehashing info almost verbatim.
Graphic: Religious bigotry
Moderate: Sexual content, Grief, and Pregnancy
Minor: Child abuse, Death, Infidelity, Blood, Vomit, Dementia, and Death of parent
