4.5
4.5 Star rounded up to 5 stars. This is truly a need-to-know story. That we have never been taught it is disappointing. The spirit and drive of Elizabeth are outstanding and inspiring. This book is enraging and frustrating. The author does not shy away from any aspect of Elizabeth's story. What is really disappointing is the parallels between Elizabeth's story and Britney Spears. That 150 years on a man can still forcibly incarcerate, limit their money, and their say over their own bodies. A lot has changed and a lot is still shockingly the same. The writing of this often produced a visceral reaction, Kate is obviously a very skilled writer. My only critique is I think the author should have edited this down some.
