DNF @ 28%. This collection of poems was a lot more Christianity-focused than I had anticipated. I’m not Christian but grew up in a Christian culture and went to a school where Christianity was everywhere and I just don’t gain anything from reading about Christian faith. Put simply: right book, wrong reader.

If you’re Christian and/or like to read poetry about Christianity and it’s intersection with race etc, I would highly recommend this collection to you! I was hoping for more of the poems about race, migration, belonging, love etc, but this one was much more Christian than anticipated.
