Vivi, a 19 year old witch, breaks it off with Rhys when she finds out he is betrothed. Her cousin, Gwyn, suggests cursing him to make her feel better. They curse him as a joke, but like Aunt Elaine always says, never mix vodka with witchcraft.

Nine years later, Rhys is back in Graves Glen and nothing is going his way. Vivi realizes that maybe there was something real to the curse they intended as a joke.

This book contains both Vivi and Rhys’ perspectives, which is crucial in a romance, in my opinion.

Witchcraft, ghosts, haunted houses, and a little spice makes for a fantastic Halloween read, although I would definitely read this any time of year. It just gives a warm fuzzy feeling.

I would have loved an actual epilogue where we get to see them together. I also would have liked a mention of the whole betrothal thing and the conversation Rhys had to have with his father about it. Obviously he wasn’t married nine years later but it felt a little like a loose end.
