I thought this was supposed to be the final book but after that ending I see that there is more to this series. I feel like we are gonna get a book focusing more on Pippa which I don't really care for to be honest. I enjoyed this story and I still absolutely love Ahdieh's writing style and story telling ability. The ending wasn't as gripping as the ending of The Beautiful. I'm curious to know what happens next but not desperate for the next book like I was for this one. I feel like there is still so much to uncover but I need Celine and Bastien to remain the main characters or I'm going to be really annoyed.


**Update after re-read**
Re-reading this after reading The Righteous has changed my rating. This wasn't as mysterious as the first one, and I wasn't sure if I wanted a book that focused on Pippa so I gave this a lower rating for the ending. After reading the 3rd book, I changed my stance on Pippa's story and I am excited to re-read The Righteous again in anticipation of the release of The Ruined!
