Tarot for the Hard Work: An Archetypal Journey to Confront Racism and Inspire Collective Healing by Maria Minnis

hopeful informative inspiring slow-paced

I honestly don't know how to rate this exactly. IT wasn't the perfect book but it was great for right now. I noticed a lot to be learned form this. And as it is a workbook, its one I will be reading again. The intersectionality is what stuck out the most. However, I will say, it does get repetitive if you're reading cover to cover. It's why it took me awhile to finish. I actually wound up listening to the audiobook toward the latter half.
In the beginning the author explains that the Fool, Magician and High Priestess cards were less about actions and more introspection to prepare. I didn't get that until I reread those parts after finishing the whole book. I definitely disagree with some of the attributes, but is that me getting bogged down in an excuse not to do the work? Probably. Does that mean I am wrong? No. For someone, a black woman someone, to have done all this work for me already I think I can find the time to find the few corresponding actions that would make more sense to me. Rather than just criticizing over what is ultimately my personal preferences.
Also, as a tarot reader I like how this is tied in with the archetypes rather than the images directly on the cards. It makes this work a tiny bit more accessible.
