A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

5.0

What a good, solid book! I'd say the only thing that really rubbed me wrong was the incessant need for girl vs girl jealousy/friendship stuff, which persisted past Gemma actually getting friends. I'd argue there's definitely a way to create untrustworthy or flaky characters without totally forgoing real female friendships, but that's a minor annoyance.

The rest was great. The writing was great, characters, setting, themes. What's not to love about a bunch of teenage boarding school girls who join a cult and become witches. Like, that's the dream. Also, Felicity is very bi and I'm very here for it.
