A lot of the “essays” lacked substance. Most of them were very surface level and are definitely a product of their time. Its feels very early 2010s and the book is definitely more intersectional than a lot of the pop feminism books of that time. The strongest essays were form Race & Entertainment and Politics, Gender & Race.
