I liked this one better than the second book but not quite as much as the first. The actual story was quite good but it was obnoxious when there were random Spanish words/phrases thrown in to remind the reader that our narrator is Hispanic when there weren't really any other nods to her culture except that (in this book) it encouraged abuse. I think I'd rather just not have any references to her culture included than have them be so awkwardly done and negative.
