Novellas can be difficult. The author only has a small number of pages to develop and establish characters while maintaining the perfect pacing. Lawson acknowledges this challenge, but she has nothing to worry aboutβ€”she’s nailed the balance in this sweet cowboy romance.

When traveling photographer Isadora Blake's car breaks down in the snowy mountains of Wyoming, she’s forced to bunker down with cowboy Ledger Cole until the storm clears and repairs can be made.

This grilled cheese-loving reader has found a soft spot for our MMC. While Ledger claims he’s not a mountain man, his quiet strength and dominant persona had me swooning. Pair him with Izzy, the chill, go-getter FMC, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a snowed-in, close-proximity romance.

This novella reads like a full-length novelβ€”it never feels rushed and offers the perfect mix of heartfelt moments and spicy encounters. Lawson also introduces a few intriguing side characters, and I’m crossing my fingers for more stories from the Coles family ranch.

If you love cowboys 🀠, open-door spice πŸ”₯, insta-lust πŸ’‹, and Grumpy x Sunshine β˜οΈβ˜€οΈ romances, then you need to add this to your TBR. Trust me, you won’t regret curling up with Whiskey Weather.
