A Cursed Son by Day Leitao
adventurous
funny
lighthearted
4.0
I enjoyed Days writing style, it felt perfect for someone who enjoys Maas, Armentrout, and Kova - some political fantasy with lots of romance and plenty of fae.
When we were first introduced to Astra, we find out just how far she's willing to go to travel outside the castle where she plays a princess-double as part of her security. We also find out quickly that there's different types of magic and that, in her kingdom, only certain people can weird magic and only with assistance. Her magic, and fae type, puts her in danger.
This is the 3rd, maybe, novel with a dream-walker style power, and let me just say, this is by far my favourite. I love that it isn't just used as a convenient way for the love interests to make out, but it also shows us their true feelings and power.
I loved the various kingdoms and fae types throughout, and the politics were interesting enough without it bogging down the story.
I do wish we learned a little more about the magic in the world, but I'm hoping that gets explored more in the sequel, now that Astra is starting to explore it more.
The supporting characters were fun to be with and helped break up pinning. They also help explore more of the world with different fae, powers, and social statuses - not all royals all the time!
Perfect for fans of
🧚♀️ sexy dreamwalker magic
🧚♀️ political marriage
🧚♀️ enemies to lovers
🧚♀️ protect her at all costs
🧚♀️ secret powers
