Wild at Heart by Riley Hart, Christina Lee
4.0
I felt like all the bad boy-angsty- ness Porter was rocking seemed like a bit much. Like his story was awfully sad and he is definitely allowed to put some walls up around his sweet little heart. But to be so jaded and hateful all the time at everybody just seems so freaking exhausting. Why Bishop was still interested after being mistreated time and time again was baffling to me.
Classic case of "he's mean to you because he likes you" which i disagree with. But I digress.
This is one of the few cowboy romances that i've read. I definitely think that Christina Lee binge watched YellowStone before writing this book. NGL the parralells were eerily similar. (minus one star)
But I dug the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, meets the rich goodie two shoes kid and they fall in love story line. I liked Wade, I could have done with out the pseudo adopted 11 year old who is so wise beyond her years but beggars cant be choosers i guess.
It was a super easy read, I liked the ranch setting and it was not written in a way that would be confusing to someone who didn't live that lifestyle. Which was nice. I don't need technical terms for rodeo-ing.
As Orville Peck would say, "cowboys are frequently secretly fond of each other"
