The Dispatcher by John Scalzi

5.0

This story was stunning. From the descriptions I never wanted to think about to the premise of the "what if" element, this was a gorgeous story. And Zachary Quinto's performance of the story was one of the best readings I've ever heard. Each character had their own taste, their own little touch that distinguished them from the others so that even without your typical attribution you knew exactly who was speaking.

The protagonist and the mystery were both so well done. I really enjoyed Tony Valdez's character from the outset. And his relationship with Langdon and the others in the story was unique in a character, I can't say I've ever really read a character like him.
