The first 60% of this book coulda been heavily edited and cut down. I was ready to 3-star it until the end, the action did validate a bit of the hype I guess.
There was way too much info on a lot of stuff that didnt end up being as relevant to the main plot. Lovell’s death was anticlimactic and then I felt cheated on all that time spent speculating about him and his intentions and his life.
Obviously this whole story is designed to hate letty and just white privilege in general. I feel like it described all the very annoying aspects of white feminism very well… especially in the academic spaces. The one quote “after all they went through, she was the one that needed comfort” uff.. tell me about it. Triggered a big eye roll.
