Amore ‘Ammo’ is forced to spend her last few months of freedom–her last stop–with her deadbeat dad before going away to college. A summer of bonding with her cousin (Tamra ‘Tammy’) over parties, danger, virginity pacts, and first loves against a nostalgic ‘90s background in Jersey City. This started out slow but when Takerra gets you hooked, it’s over. No one weaves a story about a bad boy with redeeming qualities ready to make you risk it all quite like her, and Gabe ‘Guapo’ is no exception. I sensed the devastation coming and still couldn’t put this book down. I loved the ending.
