the world-building in this one was just incredible. seraphine was such a fantastic mc, made all the more intriguing by the enigmatic shadow of her mother following her throughout the entire book. i really loved the relationships between sera and her friends, as well as sera and ransom.

catherine doyle is definitely a name to look out for if YA fantasy is something you enjoy!
