Our Wives Under The Sea by Julia Armfield

This is a haunting, beautifully told story of married couple Miri and Leah, and how Miri tries to cope when Leah comes back, after months under the sea, different. It had strong 2020 lockdown vibes, and using a POV switch back to Leah trapped under the ocean with Miri trapped at home with Leah was an incredible parallel.
I did find Miri extremely frustrating. Lost in her thoughts of Then, it often seemed like even when Leah reached out to her she didn't acknowledge it. And she didn't try and find out what happened to Leah hard enough for me, she just called a lot and never actively sought out the other crew members or their families.
This story doesn't go into depths (pun not intended) as to what was happening to Leah, but her POV in the submarine provided a good amount of insight about her character and I always looked forward to her chapters. The ending was a little jarring though, ending abruptly with no answers to our questions.
