Try Me by Neve Wilder
5.0
5 ⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Format: ebook
“‘I would’ve let you in anytime. I always will. I don’t know that I’d ever be able not to.’”
I liked Nate and Eric, but I fucking adore Mark and Chet, and I knew I would since the first book. Friends to enemies to lovers is just such a top-tier trope, and it was done so, so well with this couple. The chemistry was insane even in Want Me, and it was nuclear in Try Me.
First of all, I love me a misunderstood bad boy, but add a “I had no where else to go” situation and my heart cracks into pieces. Chet going to Mark after his dad was arrested because he was the only comfort he still had in his life was my actual undoing. And then going to his window after everything that went down with Mark’s dad? I was so far gone for them.
From the original fall out, to the Cam drama, to the forced workplace proximity to the spice to the love declarations and everything in between just totally worked for me. I lived for the push and pull between them, I even loved the drama with Mark’s dad and them literally not being able to stay away from each other. Yeah, just, everything was perfect.
I also love that this book was not formatted like the first one. I hated the six long “episodes”. Much prefer the shorter chapters.
