Glorious Rock Bottom by Bryony Gordon
4.0
I read a few of Bryony's other books and so I knew what to expect. I don't have an issue with alcohol but the OCD portions of the book resonated with me, especially parts of my childhood. She writes so viscerally that you can almost feel what she experienced and I also enjoyed the parts where she is talking to her therapist because I've definitely experienced some of those thinking patterns when it comes to food. The last blow out before the diet is very reminiscent of the last alcohol binge before rehab, the denial and the erroneous thinking is the same. The phrase that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results rings true.
I recommend this but especially if you have any kind of addiction issue to anything.
