Five Little Indians by Michelle Good
5.0
I have read several fiction and nonfiction books about residential schools. This novel centres around the aftermath and the lasting effects on 5 previous students in their adult lives.
It's a powerful and eye-opening story. Made me think about how we can't assume we understand people based on their current behaviour without knowing the underlying stories. The characters are developed well and the different ways they deal with the trauma.
