Searching for Tomorrow by Kathryn McNeill Crane
5.0
Wow! This is Kathryn Crane's debut novel, but there is no way on the planet that I would ever have thought this was the case! It is written well beyond what anyone would expect of a debut.
Searching for Tomorrow is a story of soulmates, love and loss, family. It is written in past and present tense, which sometimes can get confusing, however this is not the case here.
Wrynn found her soulmate Tripp when she was just a child. Now she has lost him and she is broken. Her story is absolutely heartbreaking. To have loved as deeply as she did, how can she move on for herself and her children. I might have done a fair bit of this while I was reading
Through the "past chapters" we follow as Wrynn and Tripp go from friends to more than friends, to lovers, to each other's everything.
You will fall in love with Tripp. He is strong, caring, loving - even though his childhood left a lot to be desired, he overcomes it to become the man he is.
Wrynn's twin brother Liam plays a large part in her life and in the story. Things happen as the story moves along that seem to set things up for a book of his own? I hope this happens and not too far in the future.
Tripp's "mother" - well, what a piece of work she is. At times I was expecting flying monkeys to hover around her she is so nasty.
I could not put this down once I started, had a very late night/early morning to finish it. Especially when I got to the last few chapters. Hooley dooley what a plot twist. I was left going "what the heck just happened!!??!"
Thank you Kathryn for giving us a wonderful, emotionally packed story. I will certainly be reading more.
