Angels of Bataan and Corregidor: The Heroic Nurses of World War II by Samantha Chow, Agnieszka Biskup
adventurous
informative
fast-paced
5.0
For a children’s graphic novel, “The Angels of Bataan and Corregidor” gave a surprisingly comprehensive history about the WWII Army Nurse Corps POWs interned by the Japanese.
It did read like a suspiciously abridged version of “We Band of Angels: The Untold Story of American Nurses Trapped on Bataan by the Japanese,” but is an excellent resource for kids wanting to learn more about women’s involvement in WWII.
