A modern version of David Copperfield. Sad and depressing, a birds eye view to the opoid crisis in poverty stricken communities. Great book and this from the acknowledgments says it all:
For the kids who wake up hungry in those dark places everyday, who've lost their family to poverty and painpills, whose caseworkers keep losing their files, who feel invisible, or wish they were: this book is for you.
