Sabriel by Garth Nix

emotional relaxing medium-paced

5.0

I have read this before but, as with all of the rereads, it’s been absolutely forever and I had functionally no memory of the plot. In fact, it took me about 2/3 of the way to figure out that I had read it before (the arrival at the house clued me in, as did Mogget).

In short, a delight, a very fascinating depiction of death if short on the worldbuilding otherwise, Sabriel is a very solid MC (flawed, likable, and not unwilling to get dirty), Mogget is a cat, and the antagonist is believable.
