I didn't enjoy this one as much as the other two but I will not stop reading the series because I think it's really good. I don't know what it was about this novel that made me not connect with it as much. I certainly enjoyed the story and the characters were as good as ever. I don't know, it felt a bit more like filler than the other books have, like we were going through the motions a bit. I liked the glimpses of the attitudes of the day regarding race and sexuality and think that was very well done.

Perhaps I just wasn't in the right mood for the book. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
