Frenemies by Emma Hart
4.0
Reviewed on my blog, Becky on Books, on 2/1/20.
This one was so much fun!
There was an awful lot of laughing out loud over here while I read Frenemies--and yeah, there might even have been a little bit of snort-laughing as well. (Two words: Grandma Jen. Two more words: prank war.) I mean, you couldn't help but wonder why the heck past Cameron and Imogen (OMG, love her name!) had been so dead set against being in a relationship, especially since they both secretly wanted to be in one, but at least it made for one heck of a fun story now :)
Honestly--a second chance romance between two likable characters, a feisty grandma, an adorable little girl, an almost as adorable Shih tzu ("I didn't care what she said. I was not getting a dog." [the next day] "I had a dog."), an epic prank war, fabulous banter, and of course smoking hot chemistry. It all equals a perfect read to snuggle up with and escape on a winter evening.
Plus, it's given me a new life goal: start a book club like Grandma Jen's when I'm (cough) slightly older and looking for new and exciting ways to drive my children (grandchildren? Dare I hope?) batty. :D
Rating: 4 stars / B+
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
