What Lies Between Us by John Marrs

5.0

I loved this novel! It’s wicked, suspenseful, and truly addicting. What Lies Between Us is a gripping mommy-and-daughter psychological thriller. This novel is packed with tension and unforgettable twists. Marrs was reeling me in more and more with each page.

The story is told alternating between Maggie’s and Nina’s perspectives. With each chapter, it became harder to know which one was crazy. So we have to have two unreliable narrators that take the reader on a ride. I couldn’t put this book down (cliche, I know), but it’s never been more accurate.

I don’t want to spoil anything! Just read this book. The ending was brilliant, and I love Marrs’s storytelling. I’m ready to read this author’s entire backlist. I highly recommend it, especially if you read thrillers. Also, I feel like fans of Misery will love this book. There’s the prisoner locked away and confinement vibe, but make it a completely unique family edition!
