Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

emotional reflective sad medium-paced

5.0

Beautiful, heartbreaking, a perfect look at grief and food and mother/child relationships. I loved Michelle Zauner's writing style - it felt so intimate and personal. I liked following the twists in the story's path - from her mother's illness back to Zauner's childhood forward to her adolescence and then back to the present. Her reflections on her mother and the web of people surrounding them were so poignant. I just loved this. Also her story with her husband??? Weep.
