5/5 — “you will be scared. but you won’t know why…” COULDN’T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF. i’m honestly still reeling from this novel, and i was on edge the entire time. the confusion i felt at the beginning quickly turned to panic by the end, and my mouth was just perpetually agape for the last 70 pages or so. the small details really made this for me—once you notice them, the creeps settle in rapidly and don’t dissipate.
