The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow

5.0

An imaginative and engrossing tale that weaves two stories into one. January is an in-between sort of child. One of neither world or both worlds, depending on how you looked at it. Bored of her own restrictive life, she tries to escape into someone else’s story. She discovers that words have power and power opens doors and doors equal change, but someone is closing the doors.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story am impressed at how the author wove it together seamlessly. Her writing is vivid and emotionally moving. She really made it feel as if you could find a door yourself anywhere.

Note: Occasional uses of the S*** word.
