I think the first book in this series may still be my favorite, but it's a close thing. Nona is so great! The pull quote on the cover told me I'd love her, and I do. I finished and immediately flipped back to the start to read her introduction once more. The found family here is DELICIOUS. I'm also always thrown by how many things I feel like I'm missing because these books are so layered and I'm not the best detail reader. I managed to piece together one or two things before the book made them explicit on the page, but mostly I just get surprised over and over by developments which is pretty fun.
Graphic: Body horror and Gore
Moderate: Murder
