In Servitude by Heleen Kist
5.0
"In Servitude" is an utterly enthralling psychological suspense novel. I listened to the audio version. I can't remember the last time I went about my daily business whilst wearing headphones because I couldn't stop listening! The audiobook is brilliantly narrated by Kat Harrison. She really brings the author's words (and characters) to life.
The book opens with the death of Glory but what are the true circumstances of her demise? Her sister, Grace, is determined to find out, despite the obstacles she faces along the way.
I loved the local references to my beloved Southside of Glasgow. Kist really reveals the heart and humour of the residents. The characters are authentic and well-drawn. I enjoyed trying to put all of the puzzle pieces together. Heleen Kist is a first-class writer (I also highly recommend "Stay Mad, Sweetheart") and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
