The Devil Himself by BB Easton

4.0

I was curious how the devil of Dublin could have a continuation/sequel. Darby and Kellen had their HEA. But I shouldn’t have worried - it was the mystical aspect that made me love that book, so that opened lots of opportunities.

I really enjoyed the premise of the continuing eternal love. However, I felt that if this book had just a bit more mysticism, and a bit less military violence, I would have enjoyed it more. I didn’t get the warm feelings I was hoping for. I think there could have been some more emotional work done for Clover and Damien’s story, rather than relying on the eternal love bit.

Also - I had a real hard time believing anyone would bang in a helicopter after a bunch of drones just released a hail of machine gun bullets. Why is that the least believable part to me? Not the mystical lady in the lake, oh no that’s perfectly normal.

This was a captivating read, well plotted. Now I’m curious if there will be another installment of the eternal love of Darby and Kellen and Clover and Damien.
