There was more to the story in this one! The first book didn't have much meat but was still sweet, this one definitely had more of a plot but the story was weak. That being said, I think the strengths lie in the characters. The diversity is refreshing, with hard of hearing, POC, and genderqueer characters. The dragons are the absolute cutest and I LOVE the little info pages on them at the end. While the stories lack in the series, other aspects make up greatly for it.
