A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

5.0

(2019 REVIEW)
Absolutely adored this book, it took me 3 days to read it, and I could read it for hours on. It had been a while since I pulled an almost all-nighter to read! I was completely hooked! What I love most are the characters and the historical environment that unfolds throughout the pages.

Magnificent!

(2020 REVIEW)
So the trailer for the second season of the show came out and I found myself missing my witches and my vampires, so I re-read the book. It's my second time.

The reason why I love this book so much, despite people saying that it's instalove and that 'nothing is happening', it's that it's a book of ambiance, of science, and of instincts. It's a book of knowing something to the point where you feel it in your bones.

It's a book about logic, and somehow there's still place for time travelling, witches, vampires and daemons.

It's a book about a love that is so ancient, they instantly recognize each other.

Plus they meet and fall in love in a library. Sign me up.
